Participants registering for UWGC 11 are deemed to have accepted and agreed to the terms of the following Code of Conduct.
INTRODUCTION TO CODE OF CONDUCT
All UWGC 11 Participants and golf tournament participants agree to observe this Code of Conduct as set forth by the UWGC 11. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants throughout the tournament, both on and off the golf course. The UWGC 11 Code of Conduct is based on the premise that all participants respect the UWGC 11 community, including but not limited to UWGC 11 staff and the host hotel staff, golf course staff and its facilities, volunteers and service providers..
RESPECT FELLOW PARTICIPANTS
All Participants will foster an atmosphere of collegiality through the practice of recognized golf etiquette. All participants will play by the rules of golf as described by Golf Canada and by local rules as established by the UWGC 11. Participants are obliged to report any breach of the Rules of Golf to the UWGC 11 Tournament Committee. All players will make every effort to play at an appropriate pace by keeping up to the group in front of them.
REPORTING OF ISSUES AND CONCERNS
Participants will not attempt to resolve issues or concerns with the host hotel, golf courses, or transportation companies directly. Participants will promptly report any issues they may have to the UWGC 11 Tournament Committee.
RESPECT HOST STAFF AND FACILITIES
Participants will treat host hotel and golf course staff, as well as support staff with courtesy. Participants will adhere to host golf course policies, including but not limited to alcohol consumption and dress code. Participants will treat the host course with respect. The host courses must be left in the same, or better condition than they were found. Please replace all divots or fill with provided seeded sand as appropriate, rake bunkers, and repair your ball marks.
DRESS CODE
Participants and their guests are required to conform to the dress regulations of the host golf facility. These regulations have been instituted to maintain the standards and decorum expected by the club, and by extension of the UWGC 11. Beyond these basic standards, it is expected that our players will positively represent the UWGC 11 beyond just their appearance.
Please note it is the responsibility of the Management at each host club to enforce the Dress Code in a professional and diplomatic manner. Management of the host club is empowered to decline service and deny access to the golf course if, in their determination, the Dress Code is not met. In general, the Club’s expectation for dress is both “smart casual” and considerate to golf tradition.
CELL PHONES AND PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES
All personal communication devices must be turned off or switched to “silent” or “vibrate" mode. Voice communication is not generally not permitted during play. Cellular devices may be used throughout for emailing and texting. Golf Course GPS Apps may be used during play as per the Rules of Golf.
In the event a phone call needs to be addressed, please excuse yourself to a remote position so as not to disrupt (or delay) other players. Note that golf courses may enforce their own, more restrictive policies for the use of electronic devices.
AMATEUR GOLFER
Participation in the UWGC 11 Tour is for amateur golfers as described in the following. An amateur golfer, whether he or she plays competitively or recreationally, is one who plays golf for the challenge it presents. All participants are encouraged to keep a Current and Accurate Handicap Factor.
CODE OF CONDUCT COMMITTEE
A Code of Conduct Committee has been established and consists of the UGAC President plus members of the UWGC 11 Organizing Committee. The Code of Conduct Committee shall meet on an ad hoc and as required basis and will be chaired by the UGAC President. The Code of Conduct Committee will continually improve the UWGC 11 Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct Committee is authorized by the UWGC 11 Organizing Committee to discipline Participants found in breach of the Code of Conduct including disqualification and expulsion from UWGC 11.
VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT
CODE OF CONDUCT PENALTIES
